Advanced Safety Features Abound in 2018 Sentra

Safety features and driver-assistance technologies radiate throughout the 2018 Nissan Sentra, a compact sedan with a sleek exterior and signature boomerang-shaped headlights.

Under the Hood

Nissan engineers equipped the 2018 Sentra with a 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine that delivers 124 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. The engine can team with either the Xtronic automatic transmission or a six-speed manual setup.

An independent strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension with integrated stabilizer bar returns responsive handling, while high frequency-response shock absorbers keep the ride smooth.

Comfort and Convenience

Drivers of the 2018 Nissan Sentra have an impressive list of technologies at their fingertips.

The NissanConnect system relies on color screen to let the driver control the vehicle’s features, like the navigation system and audio systems. Bluetooth technology facilitates a hands-free calling feature, while a text-messaging assistant ensures drivers keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.

Smartphone integration allows use of mobile apps, audio streaming and more.

Other comfort and convenience features include six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support, heated front seats and HomeLink. RearView Monitor and Nissan Intelligent Key add to the vehicle’s ease of use.

Safety

Automatic Emergency Braking comes standard on most 2018 Sentras, granting drivers access to one of Nissan’s most progressive safety features.

Nissan’s advanced airbag system gives the 2018 Sentra dual-stage front airbags with seat belt and occupant classification sensors, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and roof-mounted side curtain airbags.

Many technologies are designed to prevent crashes altogether, such as blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert and antilock disc brakes with traction control.
