2017 Nissan Frontier Delivers Power, Comfort

The 2017 Nissan Frontier is a tough truck designed to get the job done, whether that’s on the job site or a personal project, thanks to its ample performance, abundant technology, interior amenities and numerous safety features.

Under the Hood

Two engine choices are available in the 2017 Frontier. A 4-liter V6 engine with dual overhead camshafts delivers 261 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine puts out 152 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque.

The engines are teamed with one of three transmissions — a five-speed manual, a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic.

Both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive models are available, and the truck’s maximum towing capacity is 6,710 pounds.

Comfort and Convenience

Upgraded models feature an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with a four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat. The available moon roof lets in plenty of light, and the interior is kept comfortable thanks to an efficient air conditioner. Available heated outside mirrors add convenience in inclement climates. Heated cloth front seats are also available.

The infotainment system features Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity, audio streaming and mobile app integration to complement the AM/FM/CD playback ability. Siri Eyes Free and steering wheel-mounted audio controls allow drivers to operate the system while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

An optional spray-on bedliner helps protect the cargo area of the truck, preventing scratches and adding to its utility as a work truck.

Safety

Nissan designers built the 2017 Frontier with safety at the top of their minds, starting with the zone body construction with front and rear crumple zones.

In the event of a collision, occupants are protected by dual-stage front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags and roof-mounted side curtain airbags with rollover sensor.

Three-Point seat belts are standard equipment at all seating locations, and they feature pretensioners and load limiters. The LATCH system ensures that child seats can be safely secured in the vehicle.

An available rearview monitor and rear sonar give drivers more visibility and add safety when reversing.
